Ready for Life and Community Partners Unite to Support Former Foster Young Adults Impacted by SNAP Benefit Delays

ree

LARGO, Florida –  Ready for Life, in partnership with The Beth Dillinger Foundation and First Presbyterian Church of Dunedin, is taking action to address the impact of November’s SNAP benefit delays on former foster care young adults and their families.

On Friday, October 31, 2025, Ready for Life is hosting a Pantry Packing Party from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm at the Ready for Life Skill Center in Largo. Staff and volunteers from all three organizations will pack and organize food kits for distribution to clients at risk of food insecurity. Recipe cards and guides for local resources will also be included in the kits, ensuring recipients have immediate relief as well as ongoing support.

“Many of the young adults we serve are already struggling to make ends meet,” said Kathy Mize, CEO of Ready for Life. “It’s incredible what our community can do when we come together. Packing these pantry kits shows them they’re not alone and that people believe in their potential.”

This collaborative effort highlights the unwavering dedication of Ready for Life’s partners and the impact of a community that supports former foster young adults in their journey toward independence.
