RFL prepares youth for the 2023 Hurricane Season

Thank you to all who dropped off hurricane supplies to help us support those we serve with making their hurricane plans and preparations! A special thank you to our partners:

  • Buyer’s Point

  • Church of the Ascension

  • Covanta

  • First Presbyterian Church of Dunedin

  • Pinellas Park Rotary

  • Santa’s Angels

RFL staff were very busy prior to the storm distributing supplies and helping those we serve find their evacuation zone and locate the shelters nearest them in case they needed to evacuate. We hope all of you in the RFL family are doing well after Idalia; and from what we've been hearing in our check-in calls, the youth we serve fared well thanks to your help!

Each year RFL helps hundreds of young adults prepare evacuation plans, know their zones, gather emergency supplies, and weather the aftermath of storms. We make hundreds of “Meal Kit” Bags and “Snack” Bags to help former foster youth and their children make it through these difficult times. We distribute food to individuals and families, so we do not need bulk food items and very large sizes. Individual size items work better for this emergency food relief program. See our list of Emergency Needs and help us get former foster youth Hurricane Ready!

All donation drop offs must be scheduled at our Skill Center by appointment only.
