Ready for Life wins $25,000 State Farm Neighborhood Assist® grant

Largo, FL (June 7, 2022) - In just 10 days this spring, 88,000 people cast more than 2 million votes in support of their favorite causes. As a result, 100 communities, in 34 states, including Ready for Life, will receive an assist from State Farm®. State Farm is proud to announce the Top 100 vote-getting causes that have won $25,000 grants to improve their communities.

State Farm Neighborhood Assist is a crowd-sourced philanthropic program that empowers communities to identify issues in their neighborhoods. Non-profits affiliated with each of the Top 100 causes receive grants to address them.

“Ready for Life is thrilled to receive State Farm Neighborhood Assist, and we are grateful to our community for voting and for caring about young people aging out of foster care,” said Kathy Mize, CEO at Ready for Life. “Our tag line is ‘Changing Lives Beyond Foster Care’ and this State Farm Neighborhood Assist will certainly Change Lives.”

Ready for Life supports former foster care youth in crisis stabilization, lifeline & support services, and life skills through programs such as emergency food and supplies; housing assistance; health navigation and mental, physical, and dental wellness; tutoring and job coaching; financial literacy; and an incredibly impactful mentoring program.
